Gerber Partners With The EPA Watersense Program
Ultra Flush® line of High-Efficiency Toilets meets Water Conservation Criteria
WOODRIDGE, Ill. (January 2008) - Gerber Plumbing Fixtures LLC is among one of the foremost U.S. plumbing manufacturers to collaborate with WaterSense - a program established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to offer consumers water-conscious products. Joining the program in the fall of 2007, Gerber's Ultra Flush product line is newly certified as Water Sense compliant.
"We are thrilled that 16 of Gerber's toilets boast the WaterSense label and are even more pleased that the Ultra Flush 1.1 gpf HET exceeds the WaterSense criteria for water preservation," comments Kevin McJoynt, director of marketing for Gerber. "We are currently working diligently to develop more high-performance, eco-friendly products to add to the WaterSense Program offering."
Today's standard toilet uses up to 1.6 gallons of water per flush. In order to receive the WaterSense label, toilets have to be separately tested to not only use 20 percent less water (1.28 gallons per flush), but also meet minimum performance requirements.
Gerber's WaterSense approved Ultra Flush collection is available in a wide variety of configurations and is the plumbing industry's most comprehensive selection of pressure-assist toilets - offering both enhanced performance and water savings.
In 2008, Gerber is eager to establish its faucet line as WaterSense certified. It is currently in the process of being tested and certified by the EPA.
