NKBA Outstanding Student Award

Sponsored by Toto

Objective

The National Kitchen & Bath Association's Outstanding Student Award is designed to promote excellence in kitchen and bath design and bring a greater awareness of the NKBA, as well as kitchen and bath career options, to schools accredited by the NKBA.

Scholarship Award

The NKBA will provide one scholarship in the amount of $450 and a perpetual plaque with a plate bearing the name of the student each year who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the kitchen and bath coursework at each eligible school. The plaque and scholarship check will be mailed to the college coordinator.

School Eligibility

  1. The school must have achieved full accreditation (formerly endorsed) status from the National Kitchen & Bath Association.
  2. The scholarship is to be presented to the recipient at a pre-existing public recognition event, such as graduation or awards ceremony.
  3. The NKBA and its sponsor must be recognized as a scholarship provider in publications and marketing, such as on the school's website, in awards programs and in the local NKBA chapter newsletter.
  4. The plaque must be prominently displayed at the school.

Student Eligibility

  1. The student must be registered in curriculum accredited by the National Kitchen & Bath Association.
  2. The academic achievements of the student must demonstrate excellence in kitchen and bath design.
  3. A description of the student's volunteer or work experience is required that relates to the kitchen and bath industry, such as serving as an NKBA Student Chapter Officer or participating in the Local NKBA Chapter.

The student will be chosen by the kitchen and bath design instructor and the school's designated NKBA Coordinator. Individual schools may include additional criteria to determine the recipient. Preference should be given to graduating students.

The student's name and the appropriate paperwork must be received by the NKBA by March 1st. Submissions received after March 1st will not be accepted. NKBA will send the award to the school's NKBA Coordinator by April 1st. If an earlier delivery is required, the coordinator must notify Sally Spencer, Academic Relations Coordinator, immediately at (908) 813-3791.
